From 142°C to 73°C on a critical crude pump
A crude distillation unit at a petrochemical plant is fed by two Byron Jackson pumps. During an inspection, a reliability technician found the NDE bearing housing running at 142°C, with a bearing failure looking imminent. The team switched to REVOSYN XP™ ISO 68: the temperature dropped to 91°C within an hour, 82°C by that evening, and 73°C in later readings.
